How It Works: 5-10 minute assembly
How It Works: Monumental Scale, 5–10 Minute Assembly
Paint big, ship in a slim box. Genie Canvas is a modular, gallery-grade canvas system that assembles without tools and travels through standard carriers, with no crate and no oversized freight fees.
How a Genie Canvas comes together, step by step.
What's in the Box
- Pre-cut, triple-gesso primed 10 oz cotton canvas, stapled to two of the stretcher bars. The other two edges have soft loop strips that fasten to hook strips on the two loose bars.
- Two precision-milled stretcher bars
- One horizontal and one vertical brace
- Four wooden spine connectors
- Four brace tension keys
- A QR code card that links to these instructions, an inner roll tube with two foam end squares, a poly bag, and a slim 6-inch double-wall shipping box
Assemble in 5–10 Minutes
- Unroll the canvas face down. Two stretcher bars are already attached.
- Add the other two stretcher bars by fitting them into the corners.
- Install the horizontal brace. Slide a spine onto each end and push the spines into the slots on the stretcher bars.
- Install the vertical brace. Fit it through the center joint of the horizontal brace and seat its spines in the top and bottom bars.
- Wrap the last two sides. Pull the canvas edges over the two loose bars and press the soft loop strips onto the hook strips on the bars.
- Tap in the four brace keys against the spines until the canvas is drum-tight.
No drills, no staple gun, no specialized tools.

Paint with Total Control
Once assembled, you have a rigid, gallery-depth surface that won't warp or sag while you work, whether you paint in heavy impasto oils or fluid acrylics. Tap the brace keys any time to dial in exactly the tension you prefer, or to re-tighten as the climate changes.
Take It Apart & Ship
- Once the painting is dry, tap out the four brace keys.
- Peel the canvas edges off the hook strips on the two loose bars, then lift out the braces, spines and loose bars.
- Roll the canvas, paint side out, around the inner tube.
- Slide the two loose bars and the two braces inside the inner tube, put the spines and keys in their small bag, and slip the roll into the poly bag. Push a foam square onto each end, then close it in the 6-inch box.
Ship it through standard carriers for a fraction of the cost of a crate. Your collector or gallery rebuilds it in minutes using the same steps, and it's ready to hang.

Common Questions
What sizes are available?
Twenty sizes, from 24 × 30 up to 60 × 60 inches.
Do I need any tools?
No special tools. The frame fits together by hand, and a small hammer or mallet makes it easy to tap the brace keys in.
Can I take it apart and rebuild it more than once?
Yes. The system is designed to come apart for shipping and go back together at the destination.
What paints does it work with?
Oils and acrylics, from thin washes to heavy impasto. Let the painting dry fully before rolling it.
Will the hook-and-loop snag my painting?
No. Only the soft loop side is on the canvas. The stiff hook side stays on the bars, so nothing scratchy touches your painting when it's rolled.
